I Should have Trust You

When you sent me that text
Asking if I was “ok”
I said I was fine
Well, I lied, you know that

I have a problem
Trusting others
About my problems
I didn’t trust you

I don’t like
Bearing my problems
On other people
But I should have trusted you

I didn’t mean to make you
Feel like a bad person
Even though my problems
Really shouldn’t be your problems

I should have trusted you
Even though I didn’t
My pride got the better of me
And now I regret it

I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides. I honor the place in you, where lies your love, your light, your truth and your beauty. I honor the place in you, where…if you are in that place in you … and I am in that place in me…then there is only one of us.

- Leo Buscaglia (via wordslessspoken)

But in the future there will be no wives and no friends. Children will be taken from their mothers at birth, as one takes eggs from a hen. The sex instinct will be eradicated. Procreation will be an annual formality like the renewal of a ration card. We shall abolish the orgasm. Our neurologists are at work upon it now. There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. When we are omnipotent we shall have no more need of science. There will be no distinction between beauty and ugliness. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always — do not forget this, Winston — always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — for ever.’

- George Orwell (via philphys)

We all get lost once in a while, sometimes by choice, sometimes due to forces beyond our control. When we learn what it is our soul needs to learn, the path presents itself. Sometimes we see the way out but wander further and deeper despite ourselves; the fear, the anger or the sadness preventing us returning. Sometimes we prefer to be lost and wandering, sometimes it’s easier. Sometimes we find our own way out. But regardless, always, we are found.

Never worry about numbers.
Help one person at a time,
and always start with
the person nearest you.

Why are We Friends?

Why are we friends?
I ask myself that sometimes
We’re practically family
What made this so?

Because I remember
A long time ago
I had betrayed our friendship
What an awkward time it was

I also remember
How I apologized
Because I made a mistake
And, you took me back in

You could’ve left me
In the dark, alone
But you grabbed my hand
And pulled me out

We could’ve gone our
Separate ways, away
Not talk to each other
Ever again, in this lifetime

But here we are
Practically brothers, to
One another, An extended
Family, pretty much

And now, In
Your time of need
I am not with you
When I need to be

Looking back on it
I failed you once
Then I vowed to myself
I won’t fail you again

To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone — to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone.
